Crowdfunding sprang from the JOBS of 2012 (Jumpstart our Business) Act signed by President Obama on April 5, 2102. One of the JOBS Act’s more controversial provision is Title III that exempts from registration that offer and safe of “crowdfunded” securities under the Securities Act of 1933.
